Camp American Legion serves approximately 400 injured and disabled veterans each summer.  If you are a veteran who could use physical therapy, good food, fresh air and peaceful rest, investigate a stay here. American Legion members provide the money to operate Camp American Legion, but you do not need to be a Legionnaire to qualify. All you need to be is a veteran and a resident of Wisconsin whose physician certifies that you require rest and recuperation to aid in your recovery from an operation, illness, or other affliction.

Today, the camp accommodates amputees, veterans who have had strokes, and those suffering from arthritis, nervous conditions, and Parkinson's disease.  A caregiver, spouse, or family member is required if the veteran needs assistance with daily routines or care.  The camp does not have a physician or nurse on staff, but in the case of an emergency, a local EMT rescue unit is available.
