Project Wounded Soldier is also part of our Troop and Family Support Programs, providing clothing and comfort items to our men and women recovering from injuries sustained on the battlefield. 

Often wounded soldiers have their clothing cut off by medics in the field and are transported to military hospitals in blankets or gowns.  They arrive at the hospital with nothing.  We work to ensure that they have a change of clothes and some items to pass the time before they are transported home. 

 

In August 2007 alone, the Wisconsin American Legion sent $25,000 to Landstuhl Regional Medical Center in Germany for this purpose.
